Very nice and thanks for sharing. Zero was one of my favorite bands when the second line up toured in and around the nineties. Unfortunately Martin is gone and so with him went his strange jokes and fun presence. The archive has a nice assortment of Zero shows and a few with the original line up which included John Cipollina.

In my opinion when it comes to Kimock; if he is on and connected his playing is masterful. When he is disconnected or pissed off he sleeps through the show. Sounds a little like a certain fat guy that is thought of quite kindly at this forum. And, no I don't mean Santa Claus.

with Cipollina

with just Kimock

Very nice. I have yet to see Kimock outside Phil/Dead. I'm thinking he should be on my short list.

I second that. He came up here in 2001 but unfortunately the venue lost a bunch of money so he won't be back. One of the best musical experiences I've had since the Grateful Dead.

Go see him ASAP. One of the best guitarists around today. There's something about his sound and style that captivates me like no other living guitarist. A certain enchanting quality about his playing. Gives me chills when I see 'em live. That's how I know it's powerful music.

Nice recording Taper Corey. All his GD covers are just amazing.

It's good except for all the rude crowd noise that prevails in the indoor bar type venues.
I have an 11/17/09 Kimock recording that is ruined by incessant crowd jabbering

Go to a Kimock show. If it's a bar type venue, get good seats (not hard to do), obviously away from the bar. The crowd jabbering won't be much of an issue if you're near the stage, from my experience. Because Kimock likes to play at a lot of these tiny venues, you will sometimes find people there that are just hanging out and boozing it up, not necessarily there to see the show. Make your way closer to the stage and those folks seem to disappear.

Also, on recordings the crowd noise seems to stand out more than it does when actually at the show. For me at least, it's easy to block out any distractions when I'm groovin' along at a show.

Wow, just checked out that recording. TOTALLY ruins Cole's Law. How you can you speak during that song!? It's too fucking beautiful. The show was also played at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta, though. Yelp.com ranks the noise level at that establishment as "very loud" lol.

I've seen Kimock 6 or 7 times outdoors and only once indoor - at the Great American Music Hall - 2/17/00

Stage mic's with a minimum of crowd noise would be the ticket for bar venues
